Vibrio cholerae is a facultative anaerobic, Gram-negative, crescent-shaped, motile rod like bacterium, and the causative infectious agent of the diarrheal disease, Cholera. It colonizes the mucosal surface of the human small intestine and secretes cholera toxin.
