Photorhabdus luminescens is a nematode-symbiotic, gram negative, bioluminescent bacterium, belonging to the family of Enterobacteriaceae. P. luminescens is a part of the Photorhadbus genus, known to have three bacterial species: Photorhabdus luminescens, Photorhabdus temperata and Photorhabdus asymbiotica (Ref.1).
