Melanocytes are melanin-producing cells found in skin, hair follicles, eyes, inner ear, bones, heart and brain of humans. Melanocytes are generally important for their role in Skin pigmentation, and their ability to produce and distribute Melanin is well known. Melanocytes are responsible for the endogenous synthesis of melanin pigments.
