Parkinson's disease is a Neurodegenerative disorder characterized by the progressive loss of Dopaminergic neurons in the substantia nigra and the appearance of intracellular inclusions, named Lewy bodies and Lewy neurites in the remaining nigral neurons. The Substantia nigra is located in the midbrain region of the brain. It consists of two parts: the SNc (pars compacta), and the SNr (pars reticulata).
